Mountain BizWorks of Asheville, North Carolina and the Natural Capital Investment Fund (NCIF) announced in June 2008 that they are working in a joint effort to provide sustainable green businesses with loans up to $300,000. The two organizations hope to support the development and financing of enterprises that promote the sustainable use of natural resources while contributing to appropriate economic development in Western North Carolina.
“We look forward to providing technical assistance and financial support to triple bottom line businesses in our area,” said Greg Walker-Wilson, CEO of Mountain BizWorks. Triple bottom line businesses are those which focus on the importance of social and environmental factors in addition to economic return.
